By using Verity (the app and this website), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use them. These terms apply to all users, including verified parliamentary officials.
About Verity
Verity is a civic information platform providing access to publicly available Australian parliamentary data. We aim to make parliamentary proceedings more accessible and understandable to all Australians. Verity is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Australian Parliament House or any political party.
Accuracy of Information
Parliamentary data displayed in Verity is sourced from public records and provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranty that information is complete, current, or error-free. Do not rely on Verity as your sole source for legal or political decisions.
Accounts and the Waitlist
You must be 13 years or older to join the waitlist or create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You agree not to share your authentication credentials or impersonate another person.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is defamatory, harassing, or threatening
- Impersonate any person, including a member of parliament
- Attempt to falsely claim a parliamentary profile that is not yours
- Use Verity to spread deliberate misinformation about parliamentary proceedings
- Attempt to interfere with our infrastructure or security
AI-Generated Content
Verity uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude) to generate daily briefs, bill summaries, and other content. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and is clearly labelled.
AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, or biases. Verity does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or impartiality of AI-generated content. You should not rely on AI-generated summaries as a substitute for reading primary parliamentary sources.
Verity is not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Verity is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of Verity, including reliance on information displayed.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notification or email. Continued use of Verity after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
